Investments Driving Victory: Capacity Upgrades for MEAT PROCESSING ENTERPRISE AGROTORGOVY DIM LLC

MEAT PROCESSING ENTERPRISE AGROTORGOVY DIM LLC, located in Tarashcha, Kyiv region, has successfully updated its production capacities during Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Despite the challenges, Lebanese and Jordanian investors have committed $15 million to the project, even under martial law.

This investment is a testament to how Ukrainian businesses continue to evolve and thrive, even amidst the hardships of war. The new equipment enables the company to implement a full production cycle for semi-finished veal and beef products, utilizing cutting-edge technologies that add significant value. As emphasized by Ihor Tyutyushkin, Director of MEAT PROCESSING ENTERPRISE AGROTORGOVY DIM LLC: “For many, today is the opening day, but for us, it is a day of open doors. I want to thank our investors, who believed in us and allowed us to relaunch this enterprise. Beyond exporting food during the war, they understood the need to supply finished products and create added value.”

Social and Economic Impact

The upgraded enterprise will significantly contribute to the local community’s development, noted by Mykhailo Kryvosheev, Head of the Tarashcha City Council: “Foreign investments signal that the civilized world believes in our victory. Today, Tarashcha hosts enterprises from Germany, Turkey, and Korea, and now we welcome investors from Lebanon and Jordan. I am confident this list will continue to grow.”

The facility will create 300 new jobs in the Kyiv region, offering a powerful signal to other potential investors. Lesya Karnaukh, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, praised the enterprise’s contributions: “Kyiv region’s economy remains unstoppable. Every job and every hryvnia added to the budget is a step toward our victory. We are committed to creating favorable conditions for future investors.”

Expanding Ukraine’s Export Market

The new production facilities open up fresh export opportunities to the Middle East. Taras Vysotskyi, First Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy, highlighted this development: “We aim for global recognition of Ukraine’s control systems and products. The creation of new enterprises like this one signals that Ukrainian quality is welcomed in international markets.”

Each enterprise that resumes or expands operations during the war strengthens both the industry and national morale. As Oleksandr Haydu, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy, explained: “Today we see the launch of a powerful new enterprise. It stands as a bright example of how Ukraine is moving towards victory, with the support of investors who believe in our success. This is not just about jobs and exports; it’s about foreign exchange inflows and strengthening our national economy.”

Significance of Halal Production

The production of halal-certified products is crucial for Ukraine’s Muslim community, particularly for those serving in the military. Refat Chubarov, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, emphasized the importance of this effort: “This initiative is vital for the Muslim community, including those fighting for Ukraine. I extend my thanks to the investors and management for supporting our soldiers and fulfilling the unique dietary needs of our diverse forces.”

Uniting for Victory

The unity of Ukrainians across all sectors is key to enduring and overcoming the challenges of war, according to Monsignor Yosif, Deputy Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine: “In this war, Ukraine must combine its spiritual, military, diplomatic, cultural, and economic strengths. Today’s opening is a crucial part of that broader effort.”

A Symbol of Strength and Progress

Ihor Ostash, Ukraine’s Ambassador to Lebanon (2016-2022), highlighted the international significance of the project: “This is a unique event, as some of the Middle East’s top companies have entered the Ukrainian market during wartime. This shows that Ukraine is not only resilient but also attractive to investors, a sign of strength and progress.”

Technological Innovations

During the event, guests toured the facility, learning about the advanced technologies in use, such as:

  • Argentinian vertical rolling technology: Minimizes human contact with the meat.
  • Temperature control: Maintains a stable environment of +4°C.
  • Vacuum packaging: Products are vacuum-sealed using Sildair bags.
  • Shock freezing: Products are frozen at -38°C, preserving the meat’s structure and quality.
  • Transition to Value-Added Products

Before the full-scale Russian invasion, the company primarily exported live cattle to the Middle East. However, the blockade of Ukrainian ports led the owners to shift from live cattle exports to processing and manufacturing value-added meat products, adapting to new market conditions and challenges.
